What is Pitradosh

What is Pitradosh

The appearance of Pitradosh in one’s Kundali (Horoscope) at the time of one’s birth, it can also be found if there had been immense attachment between the dead and the person still alive. In either case a NagbaliPitdoshNivaranPooja is performed so that the two souls detach themselves from each other, as it could be harmful for both of them, and to attain moksha for the dead.

The appearance of Pitradosh in one’s horoscope can lead to problems such as discord among the family members, repeated quarrels for petty things, frustration in the house as well as your business. There would be lack of peace and accord in the house or business locations. One may even encounter negative vibes after entering these premises. It might bar the growth and overall development of individuals, despite of taking great efforts.

A person is affected by Pitra Dosh if he is born under the ninth house where Sun and Rahu combine. People also believe that if someone’s ancestors have not attained peace due to religious rituals at the time of death then this Dosha develops in the horoscope of the person.

Pitra Dosh is a very important aspect in the Indian astrology and one should amend it as soon as possible without any delay. It generally occurs when the ancestors find it very hard to free themselves from the ties on earth and results in hardships. If the pitras are happy with the devotion, then they surely clear all the path to happiness as well as success.

When

a family member departs a Shradha is performed by the immediate family

to ensure that their soul is satiated and to get their blessings.

However, if this ritual is not performed, the departed ancestors do not

attain peace. Owing to this a flaw (dosh) develops in one’s Horoscope,

known as “Pitra Dosh”.

If any of the above problems are haunting you, a Pitra Dosh Nivaran Puja should be performed at the earliest at your place or alternately by learned purohits, the pooja can be performed at any river bank or any Shiv Temple. There are no suitable days to perform the pooja as it can be performed at any time of the year.

A Hawan is lit and Pindadan is done on the banks of a river. The pinda (ladoo) is made of rice flour and black sesame seeds. After the hawan, brahmanbhojan, ie., food to the Brahmins is served. It takes 3 days to perform the pooja with 5 pundits performing the ritual.
