Vaidic Pujas
Vaidic Dharma Sansthan, inspired by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is a public charitable organization dedicated to religion, spirituality, and education like Shiva Trust. The Shiva Trust perform homas and pujas for individuals and groups, provide pundit training, and serve the community.
"Vaidic Pujas" are worship practices and rituals based on the Vedas, the ancient Hindu scriptures. They are performed to honor gods, request blessings, and harmonize with cosmic laws.
Key features are include: their basis in the Vedas, Brahmanas, Aranyakas, and Upanishads; their focus on mantras and sacred fire (yajna/homa), where Agni carries offerings to the gods; their rich symbolism, with offerings representing sacrifice; and their goal of achieving Dharma (righteousness), Artha (prosperity), Kama (desire), and Moksha (liberation).
While Agamic rituals involve idols in temples, Vaidic pujas originally centered on fire altars. They have since integrated with Agamic traditions.
Common types of Vaidic Pujas include homas/yajnas such as Ganapati Homa, Navagraha Homa, Rudra Homa, and Mahamrityunjaya Homa. Samskaras are also performed to mark important life events.
